Chicken dinner
A chicken dinner at the Stillaguamish Senior Center for all ages is noon to 2 p.m. May 19 at the center, 18308 Smokey Point Blvd., Arlington. Menu includes roasted chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetables, coleslaw, roll and a pudding dessert. Live entertainment by Lee Howard.
Cost is $10 for adults, seniors $8, and children under 12 are $5. Proceeds benefit the senior center. Canned goods for food bank are welcome.

Lynnwood Police “Cops and Kids”
Come see police cars, motorcycles and specialty vehicles up close, and meet members of the Lynnwood Police Department. The event is set for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 1 at the Terraces at Alderwood Mall at 3000 184th St. SW. K-9 demonstrations and tours of police equipment will occur.

Sharing Wheels kids bike repair parties
Every Thursday though June 6, Sharing Wheels Community Bike Shop is hosting a kids bike repair party from 6 to 9 p.m. at 2531 Broadway, Everett. Participants who attend three work parties earn $20 in shop credit. The group is preparing for its 17th annual Kids Bike Swap, which is set for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 9. At the event kids can trade in a bike they have outgrown and pick out one that fits them.

Paint for pets
The new Paws With Cause art studio at the Everett Mall has free monthly open painting sessions for people to paint portraits of shelter dogs and cats needing homes and sponsors. The next session is 10:30 a.m. May 22. The shop is across from the center area where Santa sits each December. Free with donations accepted. Paintings are from photos. Pets are not present.
The gallery is open during mall hours to visit.

Mill Creek Parks board seeks member
The City of Mill Creek is looking to fill a vacant position on the Parks and Recreation Board. The position is a mid-term appointment and expires Oct. 31, 2021. Full terms are three years. Applications are due online June 14.
The Parks and Recreation Board is an advisory panel that focuses on design and development, and proposing projects for all city-owned parks. Board members recommend the annual budget for the buying, development, and operation of park and recreation facilities and programs.
Those interested in applying must be residents or operate a business in the city. Board meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at 5 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall South, 15728 Main St.
