Edmonds police open house
The Edmonds Police Department is having an open house from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the station at 250 Fifth Ave. N.
The free event includes K-9 demonstrations, tours of the police department, a children’s coloring contest and ice cream. There will be fire/rescue teams and vehicles.

City reschedules supportive housing talks
The city of Everett planning commission is holding a public workshop on zoning code regulations for supportive housing projects in single-family zones at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 20. In June, an emergency moratorium was placed on supportive housing in single-family zones. The meeting will be held at City Council chambers at 2930 Wetmore Ave. There will be a time for public comment. No recommendations to the City Council will be made that night.

Edmonds concerts and performances
Three free outdoor performances will be presented by the Edmonds Arts Commission.
Tingstad & Rumbel will perform in City Park, Third Ave. S and Pine Street from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday. The new age/chamber jazz musician combo of Eric Tingstad and Nancy Rumbel are Grammy Award winners and have performed together since 1985.
Roberto the Magnificent will bring his talents to Hazel Miller Plaza, Fifth Avenue S. and Maple Street, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on July 30. Edmonds’ own Robert Stuverud (a.k.a. Roberto the Magnificent) will bring his more than two decades of performing to the stage rain or shine.
The Jovino Santo Neto Trio will perform from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Aug. 1 at Hazel Miller Plaza. The three-time Latin Grammy nominee pianist Jovino Santos Neto is one of Brazil’s top musicians. His works include samba, choro, baião, xote, forró and marcha.

Design Review Board opening
The Mill Creek City Council has two volunteer positions open on the Design Review Board tasked with analyzing and making decisions on urban design that promotes visual quality throughout Mill Creek. Included in this responsibility is reviewing all site plans, building elevations, landscaping and monument signs for attached single-family residential, multifamily residential, industrial and commercial developments.
Applicants should have a background in architecture, landscape architecture, urban (design) planning or similar disciplines and do not need to be a resident of Mill Creek. Volunteers would be on the board until their term expires in August 2022.
Interested volunteers must complete a board and commission application and submit it by 5 p.m. Aug. 16.
