Folk harp circle

Harp players are invited to play with the Puget Sound Harp Circle from 2 to 4:45 p.m. Aug. 18 at the Mountlake Terrace Library, 2330 58th Ave. W.

Musicians at all levels of harp playing are welcome to practice in a supportive environment. Those who want to listen also are invited.

Connect with services

Visit the Everett Public Library to get free help finding social services, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 20, at 2702 Hoyt Ave.

Receive help finding food, childcare, housing, employment and more. Co-sponsors include Cocoon House, Volunteers of America, WorkSource, ChildStrive and Community Health Center of Snohomish County. Those who join will be helped on a first-come, first-served basis.

Anime club

Teens in grades 6 to 12 are invited to an anime club meeting from 2:30 to 4 p.m., Aug. 13, at the Everett Public Library, 2702 Hoyt Ave.

Join others who are interested in anime, whether you’re already a fan or just want to learn more about Japanese animation. Snacks are provided at this free event.

Community garage sale

More than 100 garage sales are planned around Marysville from Aug. 16 to 18. It’s part of the third annual All Marysville Garage Sale.

Help with school supplies

Local organization Babies of Homelessness invites low-income families to get free school supplies, hair cuts, family photos, food, dental check-ups and clothing from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 17, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 16500 124th Ave. NE, Woodinville.

Babies of Homelessness serves low-income and homeless families in Snohomish and King counties. This is its third-annual Back2School event. Free rides to the event are available — call 866-442-6443 or email b2sforboh@gmail.com.

Help draft ballot statements

The Snohomish County Auditor’s Office is seeking volunteers to write statements for or against local ballot measures for the Nov. 5 general election voter pamphlet.

Anyone who is interested must respond by 5 p.m. Friday.

They should have a clear interest for or against the ballot measure and have time available through Aug. 20. Most committees communicate through email.

A statement of interest must include your name and contact information, as well as which district or ballot measure committee interests you.
