Woman, 86, killed in vehicle collision in Lake Stevens

LAKE STEVENS — A woman who died after a vehicle collision Monday afternoon on North Machias Road has been identified as a Lake Stevens woman.

Marilyn S. Dell, 86, died from blunt force injuries, the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office said Tuesday.

Dell was crossing the road around 3:45 p.m. when a northbound truck hit her car’s side in the 1600 block of North Machias Road in Lake Stevens, the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office said. She died at the scene. The truck’s driver was not injured.

Detectives believe the passenger vehicle was trying to enter a driveway on the other side of the road.
