PASCO — The Everett AquaSox have the top offense in the High-A West, so it might be easy to forget that the pitching staff is not too shabby either.
In fact, the AquaSox have the best team earned-run average in the league, and that dominance was on display again in a 4-0 win over the Tri-City Dust Devils on Thursday night at Gesa Stadium.
Levi Stoudt, Dayeison Arias and Evan Johnson combined to strike out 15 batters in a three-hit shutout as Everett blanked Tri-City for the second time in three games.
Stoudt started and allowed just three hits and struck out seven over 5.2 innings. Arias entered in the sixth and finished with six strikeouts over 2.1 perfect innings. Johnson tossed a clean ninth and struck out two more on just 11 pitches.
Patrick Frick hit a solo home run Tyler Keenan doubled and drove in a run to lead the Everett (26-17) offense.
Ryan Smith struck out eight over five quality innings and Livan Soto had two hits for Tri-City (15-29).
