Big 7th inning plagues AquaSox in loss to Spokane

EVERETT — The Everett AquaSox allowed nine runs in the top of seventh inning and fell 14-6 to the Spokane Indians on Tuesday afternoon at Funko Field.

Grant Lavigne and Daniel Montano combined for four RBI in the seventh with a pair of doubles as Spokane (8-8) erased a four-run deficit to take a 10-5 lead.

Lavigne went 2-for-4 with three RBI, Montano had two hits and Robby Martin Jr. and Drew Romo each hit home runs. Romo had three RBI.

Noelvi Marte doubled during a 3-for-5 day at the plate for the AquaSox (5-10). Charlie Welch, Dariel Gomez and Spencer Packard each hit solo home runs.

Anderson Pilar (1-0) picked up the win after allowing one run over 1.1 innings of relief. Tanner Propst and Robinson Hernandez combined to throw 2.2 scoreless innings out of the bullpen.

Everett starter Isaiah Campbell allowed just one run and one hit over three innings and Leon Hunter followed with three scoreless innings while striking out three. Max Roberts (0-2) took the loss after surrendering seven runs on five hits and two walks over two-thirds of an inning.
