Thomas drives in 6 runs, AquaSox down Canadians

VANCOUVER, B.C. — Andy Thomas homered and drove in six runs and the Everett AquaSox rode a four-run first inning to an 8-4 win over the Vancouver Canadians on Wednesday night at Nat Bailey Stadium.

Thomas and Justin Lavey each had two-run singles as Everett jumped out a 4-0 lead in the first inning.

Thomas added a three-run home run in the top of the third inning to give the AquaSox a 7-0 lead.

Jimmy Kingsbury started on the mound for Everett and allowed four runs on six hits in five innings. Fred Villarreal, Jackson Sigman and Evan Johnson combined for four scoreless innings and nine strikeouts to close the game.

Thomas finished the game 3-for-4, Spencer Packard went 2-for-5 with a double and Lavey went 2-for-2 with two RBI and three walks for the AquaSox.

Zach Britton and Andres Sosa each had two hits for Vancouver.
