Sox lose big lead, fall to Canadians in series finale

VANCOUVER, B.C. — The Everett AquaSox pounded out 13 hits, including three home runs, but couldn’t hold on to a big lead in a 13-8 loss to the Vancouver Canadians on Sunday at Nat Bailey Stadium.

Vancouver (13-12) rallied for five runs in the bottom of the fifth and tacked on three more in each of the next two innings to erase an 8-2 deficit.

MacKenzie Mueller had four RBI, Davis Schneider homered and Leo Jimenez had three hits for the Canadians.

Alejandro Melean (1-0) earned the win after allowing two runs, one earned, on four hits and two walks over 3.2 innings of relief. He struck out five.

Alberto Rodriguez, Justin Lavey and Tyler Keenan hit two-run home runs for the AquaSox (10-16).

Jackson Sigman (0-1) took the loss, allowing three runs on three hits and one walk over one inning. He fanned three batters.
