EVERETT — Dariel Gomez singled home Justin Lavey in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Everett the lead and the AquaSox held on for a 3-2 win over the Hillsboro Hops on Wednesday on Funko Field to snap a five-game losing streak.

The game was the first of the series after the opener was called off due to health and safety protocols. Both teams were cleared to play Wednesday’s game.

Down by a run, Andy Thomas drove in Alberto Rodriguez in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game at 2-2 before Gomez’s big hit.

The Hops put two on with nobody out in the top of the ninth inning, but, after a caught stealing, Kyle Hill Struck out Lyle Lin and got Elian Miranda to line out to second base to end the threat.

Jimmy Joyce started for Everett (12-21) and turned in a stellar performance over six innings. Joyce allowed only one hit, walked none and struck out six. AquaSox pitcher allowed just two total hits in the game.

Lin had a double for Hillsboro (18-15).
