ARLINGTON — A man died after a rollover crash over the weekend on Smokey Point Boulevard, police said Tuesday.

The name of the man, 25, was not publicly released Tuesday by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office, “pending further family notification.”

Around 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Arlington police responded to reports of a domestic violence fight between a man and woman in a Kia car.

Police found the Kia in the 16900 block of Smokey Point Boulevard and tried to get the car to pull over. A man was reportedly driving, with a woman in the passenger seat. The Kia sped off, police wrote, nearly crashing into a patrol car.

The Kia crashed into a nearby utility pole about two blocks south. The driver and the passenger were both reportedly ejected from the vehicle. The pair was transported to a local hospital, where the man died of his injuries. The woman, 19, underwent surgery and was in stable condition as of Tuesday, police wrote.

The medical examiner’s office determined the man’s cause of death was blunt force injuries.

The crash was still under investigation Tuesday. The Arlington Police Department asked anyone with information to call 360-403-3400.
