AquaSox can’t hold lead, fall to Canadians

VANCOUVER, B.C. — Garrett Spain laid down a bunt single that scored Riley Tirotta with the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning as the Vancouver Canadians rallied from a three-run deficit to beat the Everett AquaSox 6-5 on Friday afternoon at Nat Bailey Stadium.

The AquaSox took a 5-2 lead with three runs in the top of the fifth inning highlighted by an RBI double from Myles Miller and a run-scoring single from Alberto Rodriguez.

But the Canadians scored twice in the sixth and once each in the seventh and eighth innings to rally for the win.

Top Seattle Mariners prospect Noelvi Marte went 3-for-5 with a run scored for Everett (46-47), which saw a three-game win streak come to an end.

Spain finished 3-for-4 with three runs batted in for Vancouver (47-43).
