MONROE — A 6-year-old child hurt their arm in what police allege was a crash caused by impaired driving outside Monroe on Saturday night.

Around 10 p.m. Saturday, Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies were called to the 21400 block of Woods Creek Road for a one-car rollover crash. When deputies arrived, they found the child with an arm injury, according to the sheriff’s office. The child was taken to the hospital.

The alleged driver, a 31-year-old woman, was arrested for investigation of vehicular assault and driving under the influence, police said. A sample of her blood was taken at the hospital.

The road was closed Saturday night as detectives investigated.

The child was placed into the custody of family members, according to the sheriff’s office.
