Mukilteo Police Department hosts youth academy

MUKILTEO — Teens can apply now for the Mukilteo Police Youth Academy.

The academy for those age 16 and older is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 24 to 28 at Kamiak High School.

Classes include SWAT, taser demo, defensive tactics, traffic unit, criminal law and scenario training.

Teens can learn about public safety career fields through practical application and interaction with professionals who perform these duties. Participation in the academy can lead to volunteer opportunities within the police department.

The application deadline is July 17.
