Curious about lefse, the Scandinavian flatbread adored by your Norwegian great-uncle Einar?
An upcoming community celebration has you covered.
Daughters of Norway, Ingeborg Lodge No. 43, plans to hold its 11th annual Nordic Fair 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 28 at the Stillaguamish Grange Hall on the Stanwood Camano Fairgrounds, 6521 Pioneer Highway, Stanwood.
The event is dedicated to Scandinavian food, vendors, crafts, baked goods, art and history — and, as promised, lefse. Demonstrations on how to make it are planned.
A handmade quilt, crafted by a member of the lodge, will be raffled, with proceeds going to the lodge’s scholarship fund.
And the Stanwood Sons of Norway will be whipping up a soup-rolls-and pie lunch, with your choice of coffee or tea.
Admission is free, which Uncle Einar would have appreciated.
