Providence Swedish welcomes first babies of 2026 in Everett, Edmonds

EVERETT — Providence Swedish welcomed its first Snohomish County babies of 2026 Thursday morning, the medical groups announced in press releases Thursday.
At 5:17 a.m., Fairelis and Leonel Aguirre, of Everett, welcomed their third child, Leinel Enrique, at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett. Leinel weighed 7.3 pounds and measured 20 inches long. Karen Myren, an OB-GYN with Western Washington Medical Group, delivered the baby.
Leinel is the couple’s third child together. He’ll be welcomed home by three siblings, Leissibet, 14; Heder Moran, 9; and Leslie, 6.
At 10:19 a.m., Katie and Tim Hawkins, of Marysville, welcomed their second child, Callahan Townes Hawkins, at Providence Swedish Edmonds. He weighed 9.8 pounds and measured 20.67 inches long. OB-GYN Randolf Bourne delivered the baby.
The couple said they are excited to introduce Callahan to his 2-year-old sister, Berkeley, and their two dogs — Pre, a 9-year-old Vizsla, and Chester, a 5-year-old French Bulldog. They are also looking forward to Callahan meeting extended family across the United States and Canada.
Hospital staff gave both families a newborn gift basket to celebrate the first births of the new year.
In 2025, there were 3,911 births at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett. There were 1,361 births at Providence Swedish Edmonds.
