EVERETT — Dick’s Drive-In announced Wednesday that the Tulalip Indian Reservation will be the home of its next restaurant.
Located across from the Quil Ceda Creek Casino, west of I-5 at exit 199, the fast food chain seeks to create a gathering place for new and existing customers in the Tulalip and Marysville communities, according to a Dick’s Drive-In press release.
“It’s wonderful to partner with a community that shares our values and understands multigenerational stewardship,” said Jasmine Donovan, president and CEO of Dick’s Drive-In Restaurants, in the release.
The Tulalip restaurant will be the third Dick’s Drive-In location in the county and the 11th overall.
Just under a year ago, Dick’s Drive-In opened its 10th location at the corner of Center Road and Highway 99 in unincorporated Snohomish County, right outside of Everett city limits. After an hour-long ceremony complete with bagpipers and the Mariner High School Marching Band, hundreds lined up to get a taste of the Seattle-based chain’s back-to-the-basics burger menu.
The more than seven-decade-old burger joint will bring all of its classic menu items to the new eatery and espouses, “the company’s long-standing commitment to serving communities across the Puget Sound region,” the release said.
Dick’s Drive-In’s partnership with the Tulalip Tribes represents “shared values of community investment, quality employment, and long-term regional growth,” said Hazen Shopbell, chair of the Tulalip Tribes Board of Directors, in the release.
“We are honored to welcome them as a new business to Tulalip,” he said.
Each drive-in restaurant creates approximately 50 jobs with benefits including “employer-paid health insurance, education scholarships, childcare assistance, regular merit raises, and promotion opportunities,” the release said.
“We look for locations where Dick’s can become part of the fabric of the community,” said Donovan in the release. “This site gives us the chance to serve longtime customers, welcome new ones, and build something that reflects the strength and future of the Tulalip community.”
As of Wednesday, there is no set opening date.
