Where to find Fourth of July fun in Snohomish County

Independence Day weekend is here. To help you choose your destination, here’s a list of local events. Unless otherwise noted, these happen on Monday, July 4.

Arlington

The Frontier Days celebration includes a pancake breakfast, 7-11 a.m. at Haller Park (1100 West Ave.); an Old Fashioned Fourth, 12-4 p.m. at Legion Memorial Park (114 N Olympic Ave.); Kiddies Parade at 4:30 p.m. and Grand Parade at 5 p.m. (along Olympic Avenue); fireworks at 9 p.m. at the Arlington Boys and Girls Club (18513 59th Ave. NE); and much more throughout the day and weekend. Bothell

The Bothell Freedom Festival starts with the Fire and EMS Pancake Breakfast, 8:30-10:30 a.m. at the Downtown Firehouse, 10726 Beardslee Blvd. Fire apparatus tours, kids crafts, free blood pressure checks, bike helmet fittings ($10). Camano Island

The Terry’s Corner celebration is at 3 p.m., at Sunrise Boulevard and Highway 532 (East Camano Drive). Live music, Korean War remembrance by veterans and children’s play area. Free. More info: 360-629-0132.

Darrington

Mansford Grange Fourth of July starts with a parade followed by a fair at 1 p.m., including a firetruck, racing “turtles” in the pond, Smokey The Bear, balloon toss, tug-of-war and more, at Old School Park (Givens Avenue and Riddle Street). More at www.mansfordgrange.org.

Edmonds

An Edmonds Kind of Fourth includes a children’s parade at 11:30 a.m. followed by the grand parade at noon; firefighter waterball competition at 2:30 p.m. at City Park (Third and Pine); evening entertainment and food vendors from 6 p.m. at Civic Stadium (Sixth and Bell), including a beard and mustache contest at 8:30 p.m., with fireworks at 10 p.m. More info at www.edmondswa.com.

Everett

Colors of Freedom celebration includes downtown parade at 11 a.m., festival 1-11 p.m. at Legion Memorial Park (no parking; ride Everett Transit shuttle free from Everett Station or Everett Community College), and Thunder on the Bay fireworks show at 10:20 p.m. (best viewing from Legion and Grand Avenue parks). First Baptist Church holds its annual Fun in the Sun street fair, 12-3 p.m. outside the church, 3120 Wetmore Ave. Free popcorn, cotton candy, face painting, balloons, pony rides, bouncy houses and more. Mountlake Terrace

An Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks Show will be held 7-10 p.m. July 3, Sunday, at Ballinger Park, 23000 Lakeview Drive. Live music, swing dancing, food, and fireworks. Sponsored by the nonprofit Cheeseburger Babies Foundation and its supporters, including Red Onion Burgers and Double DD Meats. Stanwood

Parade at 11 a.m. followed by ice cream social with fresh strawberries and ice cream at noon, also including a quilt show and children’s costume contest with patriotic or U.S. history theme (younger than age 12). More at www.sahs-fncc.org.

Seafair Summer Fourth

Noon to 11 p.m. Gas Works Park and 3 to 11 p.m. at South Lake Union Park, Seattle. Fireworks start about 10:20 p.m. More at www.seafaircom/fourth.
