Mountlake Terrace sophomore named WIAA Athlete of the Week

Mountlake Terrace sophomore softball player Sammy Ruiz has been named a WIAA (Washington Interscholastic Activities Association) Athlete of the Week for her efforts the week of March 21-26.

Ruiz was 8-for-9 at the plate with three home runs and a double in that span. She scored seven runs and had nine RBI, helping the Hawks win two of their three games.

Each week the WIAA recognizes 12 varsity athletes, a male and a female from all six classifications, who exhibited outstanding performances for the previous week.
