LYNNWOOD — A forum on Initiative 1098, which aims to impose an income tax on Washington’s wealthiest residents, is planned at Edmonds Community College on Monday evening.

The event is intended to give the audience a chance to hear from both sides of the issue and to ask questions. It’s scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at EdCC’s Black Box Theatre, 20310 68th Ave. W., Lynnwood, 98036.

Marilyn Watkins of the nonpartisan, Washington state-based think tank Economic Opportunity Institute* is scheduled to represent the “Yes” position on 1098, Joe Barer of Seattle-based consultants Lake Partners the “No” position.

The Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation is sponsoring the event. Herald editorial page editor Bob Bolerjack will moderate.

This is one of several forums planned as part of a series called Issues That Matter. Seating is limited.
