Kids rule at the fair
When isn’t it kids day at the fair?
Well, today is an extra special day for young people at the Evergreen State Fair, with entertainment and activities for children and families all day at the Courtyard Stage.
Best of all, kids age 15 and younger are admitted free.
Labor Day the old-fashioned way: Join Camano Island vaudevillian R. Chumleigh for a Labor Day event that includes music and humor.
Gates open at 1 p.m., and the concert starts at 2 p.m. Monday at Chumleighland, East Camano Drive and Dallman Road.
Admission is pay what you can or free for those who are unemployed. “You have nothing to lose but your chains,” Chumleigh said.
Former Washington state poet Linda Allen and folksinger Mark Ross plan to perform labor songs.
For more information, go to www.chumleigh.com.
Cascade Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club’s Funday: Games, costume contest and agility demonstrations are planned for this event, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at McCollum Park, 600 128th St. SE, Everett.
Cost is $5 a family. For more information, call 206-669-4368 or go to www.cpwcc.org.
KSER community meeting: People who want to learn about the long-range plans for 90.7 KSER, Everett’s independent public radio station, are asked to attend a meeting from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Saturday at the Everett Public Library, 2702 Hoyt Ave.

KSER provides Snohomish and Island counties with news, information and cultural and music programs. The radio station is listener-supported, commercial-free and the sponsor of the annual Voice of the Community Awards.
