Help for autistic kids

Becky Blake, a neurodevelopmental educator, will offer a program about nutrition for children with autism and physical or developmental delays at 7 p.m. Jan. 21 at the Lynnwood library, 19200 44th Ave. W.

Blake owns Baby Power Super Kids at 607 SE Everett Mall Way, Everett. Her business is a learning place for all children, but she has a special focus on children with special needs.

Autism is a complex developmental disability that typically appears by the time a child turns 3, according to the Autism Society of America.

The disorder affects individuals differently, but generally is characterized by difficulties communicating and interacting with others.

Annual plant sale in March: The Snohomish Conservation District will hold its annual conservation plant sale March 5 and 6 at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. March 5 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 6.

All plants are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Visitors can purchase plants for wildlife habitat, reforestation, native plant gardens, wind and visual screens and erosion control.

Visitors also can plant noble, Douglas or grand firs as a Christmas tree.
