Arlington: School district hires new human resources director
Michael Johnson is the new executive director of human resources for the Arlington School District.
Johnson plans to complete the current school year in his job as director of teaching and learning, special programs, and human resources at South Whidbey School District.
He starts his job in Arlington on July 1.
Craft day planned for kids at bookstore
The nonprofit Bookshelf used bookstore plans to host a free craft day for children from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at 102 E. Division St., Arlington.

Camano Island: Two Easter egg hunts on Saturday
Kids can hunt for Easter eggs in two locations on Camano Island.
The Camano Chapel Easter egg hunt for ages 2 to 10 is at 11 a.m. Saturday at the main worship center, 867 S. West Camano Drive. Prizes and a hot dog lunch are planned.
South Camano Grange’s Easter egg hunt is 10 a.m. Saturday at 2227 S. Camano Drive. All children under 12 are encouraged to bring baskets to hunt for gold and silver prize eggs.

Darrington: Easter egg hunts on Saturday
Darrington’s annual Easter egg hunt, sponsored by the Darrington Volunteer Firemen’s Association, is 11 a.m. Saturday at the Darrington High School football field.
Darrington Family Resource Center offers a hunt at 1 p.m. Saturday at Harold Engles Park, across the street from Darrington Town Hall.

Sloan Creek Road closure scheduled
Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest is closing Sloan Creek Road, also known as Forest Road 49, from Monday to April 9 to replace culverts and repair damage.
Sloan Creek Road is 16 miles south of Darrington off Mountain Loop Highway at milepost 37. Road construction will block access to Sloan Creek-North Fork Sauk, Lost Creek Ridge, Bald Eagle, Sloan Climber’s Route, North Fork Sauk Falls and Harold Engles trails.

Marysville: Teach a class at senior center
The Ken Baxter Senior-Community Center in Marysville is looking for qualified instructors to teach classes.
Classes in crafts, intellectual pursuits, photography, dance, and other hobbies or ideas will be considered. Long- and short-term and monthly ongoing classes or workshops on a variety of topics are needed. Paid and volunteer opportunities are available.
