Victim of fatal Edmonds fire identified

The woman who perished in a fire at her home Sunday was identified as Joanne Lamb.

Firefighters were called after a fire broke out at her house in the 19300 block of 84th Avenue W. Lamb, 70, was found dead in a bedroom.

She died from smoke inhalation, the Snohomish County medical examiner said on Monday. Her death was ruled an accident.

Fire investigators determined the fire was started by a cigarette discarded in a paper trash bag.
