Humane Society sale

This year’s annual garage sale to benefit the Humane Society’s animal food bank and medical care program for animals of low-income households is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at 6326 Lakewood Road, Stanwood.

Bring items to donate. The Humane society needs large wire dog cages, cat carriers and all types of pet food.

The Granite Falls man will be available to chat from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Edward Jones Financial Services, 107 Fifth Ave. N., Suite 101, Edmonds.

Darrington’s old city hall is up for sale: The Darrington Town Council recently declared the town’s old city hall as unneeded property and put it up for sale.

The old brick building hasn’t been used for town business for many years. Most recently it housed the Darrington Food Bank, which now is at First Baptist Church.
