Arlington: Learn to preserve your harvest
Master gardener Bea Randall plans to talk about preserving a garden’s harvest and expanding to year-round gardening at a Grow Your Groceries session set for 10 a.m. Saturday in the Hadley Hall community room next to the Arlington Boys &Girls Club, 18513 59th Ave. NE.
The free session will include information about preserving fruits and vegetables and a discussion about winter gardening.

Arlington: Library program at Fly-In
Today is Kid’s Day at the Arlington Fly-in at the municipal airport. All children are admitted free when accompanied by an adult.
The Arlington Library plans to sponsor a craft event at 9 a.m. at the annual festival.

Granite Falls: Mark opening of ice caves
The public is invited to the ribbon cutting and grand opening for the Ice Caves Trail bridge set for 10 a.m. Friday.
The new bridge to the ice caves at the base of Big Four Mountain opened June 27, allowing hikers access to the one of the most popular destinations in Snohomish County.
The 1-mile hike has been closed since the November 2006 floods washed away the footbridge over the South Fork Stillaguamish River.
To attend the ceremony, park in the Big Four Picnic Area parking lot, 25 miles east of Granite Falls on the Mountain Loop Highway.

Marysville: City earns health award
The city of Marysville has received an award for promoting health among its employees.
The city recently received the WellCity Award from the Association of Washington Cities.
Marysville was one of 34 Washington cities and towns that received recognition for their workplace wellness programs at the association’s annual conference June 23-26 in Spokane.
A city must meet minimum criteria in each of nine standards to receive the award.
Marysville has a Wellness Committee that coordinates several health and fitness programs and seminars and encourages employee participation in sports and other activities, according to the city.
Tulalip: Walk to fight cystic fibrosis
Great Strides Tulalip, a 3-mile walk for Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, Tulalip Casino and Resort, 10200 Quil Ceda Blvd. Check-in is at 9 a.m. You must register if you’re going to walk.
