Arlington student on Dean’s List

A 2005 graduate of Cascade High School, KayLee Dart of Arlington, was named to the dean’s list at Carroll College in Helena, Mont. Dart graduates in May with a major in public relations and minors in communications and arts administration with a concentration in journalism.

Carroll College named 411 students to its 2008 fall semester dean’s list.

Marysville student wins DAR award

A Grace Academy senior in Marysville recently received a Good Citizens Award for 2009 from the Peter Puget Chapter National Society Daughters of the Revolution.

Martin Yario was presented the award by Jeannette Carroll, NSDAR regent, and Marlene Holbrook, Good Citizens chairwoman.

Martin was selected for the award after writing an essay titled “Our Unique Heritage: How We Can Preserve It.” His essay was sent to the state level to be judged among other chapter winners for recognition.

Everett students competes in DECA

Mariner High School recently competed in a Distributive Education Clubs of America area competition. The top three teams in each category won the chance to go to state competitions in Bellevue.

The following five Mariner students placed in the event:

Seniors: Charli Santos, first place, and Navkiran Aujla, third place.

Juniors: Park Hanft and Taylor Hope, second place, and Matthew Lockhart and Jordan Locke, third place.

DECA is a marketing leadership organization.

Two students on dean’s list

Two Snohomish County students recently were named to the dean’s list at the College of William and Mary for the 2008 fall semester.

They were: Sarah Rybarczyk of Snohomish and Karsten Thot of Monroe.

In order to achieve dean’s list status, full-time undergraduate students must take at least 12 credit hours and earn a 3.6 quality point average during the semester.

The College of William and Mary is the second oldest institution of higher learning in the United States.

Marysville resident makes dean’s list

A Marysville resident, Jennifer Luatua, recently was among 620 students who qualified for the academic honors lists at Chadron State College during the 2008 fall semester. Luatua, who is studying toward a bachelor’s degree, was named to the dean’s list.

A total of 210 students were named to the president’s list, which requires straight A’s. An additional 410 achieved the dean’s list, which requires a grade point average of at least 3.5.

Students must be enrolled in 12 credit hours of course work during the semester to qualify.

Chadron State College is part of the Nebraska State College System.

Snohomish resident earns art degree

A Snohomish resident, Daniel Slager, recently graduated from Dordt College with a bachelor of arts degree in art, with an emphasis in graphic design.

Dordt College is in Sioux Center, Iowa.

Everett resident on president’s list

An Everett resident, Brittany Jeanice, recently was among 419 students at Northwestern State University of Louisiana who were named to the president’s list for the 2008 fall semester.

Students on the president’s list must be enrolled full-time at Northwestern and make A’s in all academic courses pursued.
