DARRINGTON — Two people were injured this evening after two cars collided along Highway 530 near the rodeo grounds, the State Patrol reported.

The crash occurred at 5:40 p.m. when the car driven by a 30-year-old Darrington man struck a car driven by a 48-year-old Darrington woman. The woman’s car was hit from behind while she was stopped for rodeo grounds traffic, sending the car into the oncoming lane.

The Darrington man’s car continued into eastbound traffic, where it hit a truck driven by a 79-year-old Snohomish man and then came to rest on the eastbound shoulder of the highway.

While the 30-year-old man was transported to Cascade Hospital, no one was seriously injured, according to the State Patrol.

The state Department of Transportation reported at 6:30 p.m. that all lanes of the highway were blocked near Little French Creek Road.
