EVERETT – Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who robbed a south Everett bank Wednesday evening.

The man gave a teller a note demanding money at about 7 p.m. at the Washington Mutual Bank branch inside the Fred Meyer store in the 12900 block of the Bothell-Everett Highway, Everett Police Sgt. Robert Goetz said.

The note said the man had a gun though none was seen, Goetz said. The robber ran from the bank and police used a dog to search, but were unable to find him.

The man is described as white, in his early 20s, slender to medium build with brown hair and several days growth of facial hair. He was wearing a dark colored stocking cap with a light horizontal stripe, a black or gray sweatshirt and black pants. Surveillance video photos of the man were released today.

Everett Police Major Crimes Unit is investigating, Goetz said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Everett Police Department tip line at 425-257-8450
