Published 1:11 pm Friday, August 7, 2015

Tired of perusing magazines and shaking snow globes in the airport gift shop?

Now you can explore the 65-piece public art collection at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

Sixty-five pieces? Who knew?

The free STQRY app tells about every painting, mural and sculpture, with detailed descriptions, artist bios, fun facts, videos and maps. Search for individual pieces of art by groups or locations.

Sea-Tac’s art collection was started in the late 1960s. One of the airport’s most popular sculptures is “Landing,” which contains 28,000 pieces and is suspended by about 10,000 wires. It’s 40-feet high, 20-feet wide and 20-feet deep.

All that and more fits in the palm of your hand. For more, go to www.stqry.com.
