Portrait honors memory of member

Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8870 member Michael Reagan drew one of his signature portraits for one of his Post’s own. Dennis Gaasland was a past commander of the post (1992-94, 1995-96) who joined the U.S. Navy at age 17 to serve during World War II as a radar operator. He died in March.

Reagan drew a portrait of a young Gaasland in Navy uniform for his wife, Helen, and son Greg.
