Briefs: Physical therapist added at IRG Arlington

IRG Arlington Physical and Hand Therapy in Arlington has welcomed Loren Johnson as its newest physical therapist. His special interest is treating patients who have had joint replacement and post-orthopedic shoulder care. In 2016, Johnson completed his 44th year working as a physical therapist. He is a past president of the Washington State Physical Therapy Association.
State accountant association appoints new president-CEO
The Board of Directors of the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants has appointed Kimberly D. Scott, CAE, as president and CEO effective June 1. Scott joined the WSCPA in 2000 and has served in various senior leadership roles throughout the organization. She will succeed Richard E. Jones, CPA, CGMA, who will retire May 31.
Northwest Yoga Conference planned in Lynnwood
The Northwest Yoga Conference, the Pacific Northwest’s premiere yoga event, is scheduled for Wednesday through Sunday at the Lynnwood Convention Center in Lynnwood. This year’s event will feature music, speakers, meditation and more than 30 internationally acclaimed yoga teachers including Seane Corn, Kia Miller and Eoin Finn. Whidbey Island Nourishes receives $3,900 grant
Providence General Children’s Association awarded $3,900 to Whidbey Island Nourishes for their Backpack and Self-Serve Food Programs serving food-insecure children on South Whidbey Island. The funds will help purchase groceries to prepare more than 2,000 meals each month distributed through the elementary school, high school, teen center and Family Resource Center and 20 meals each week in partnership with the local food bank.
