Film series: First Presbyterian Church’s current Reel World Cinema Series takes up a science-faith dialogue theme. The March 17 film is “The Man Who Knew Infinity” (2016). World religions: Are world religions a mass of confusion or a world of opportunity? Philosopher and religion scholar David Smith compares and contrasts the central beliefs of the four largest religions in a “Comparative Religions” series at Lynnwood Library, 19200 44th Ave. W. Fundraiser: Cornerstone Ministry Group holds a fundraiser, 5-8 p.m. March 25 at the Snohomish Eagles, 606 Maple Ave., Snohomish. Jonathan and the Band of Dry Bones will perform. Concert: The Sweet Adelines, a barbershop group, gives a “Journey Into Spring” concert, 7 p.m. March 25 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2531 Hoyt Ave., Everett. Concert: Choral Arts Northwest perform a Seattle composer’s work, 8 p.m. March 25 at First Presbyterian Church, 2936 Rockefeller Ave., Everett. “But Who Shall Return Us Our Children: A Kipling Passion” is based on the historical account of Lt. John Kipling’s 1918 death at the Battle of Loos and its impact on his famous parents, Rudyard and Carrie Kipling. Tickets are $28, $24 for seniors and military, free to students. Prayer Breakfast: The annual Good Friday Prayer Breakfast sponsored by the YMCA of Snohomish County is set for April 14 at the Edward D. Hansen Conference Center at Xfinity Arena, 2000 Hewitt Ave., Everett. The nondenominational event gives thanks and seeks guidance for the year. It is not a fundraiser. Tickets are $40. Lent services: Trinity Episcopal Church holds mid-week Lenten meditation and prayer services at noon Wednesdays through April 5 in St. Luke’s Chapel. The church is at 2301 Hoyt Ave., Everett. Living Interfaith: The Rev. Steven Greenebaum gives the message “Avoiding the Hate Pathogen,” 10:30 a.m. March 11 at Living Interfaith Church, which meets at Good Shepherd Baptist Church, 6915 196th St. SW, Lynnwood. “Hate and intolerance are contagious, and we seem in the midst of a worldwide pandemic.” Services are second and fourth Saturdays (except July, August and December) and focus on a variety of faith traditions.
