MARYSVILLE – A Marysville man suffered serious head injuries Wednesday when he reportedly lost control of his bicycle and fell into the path of an oncoming vehicle, police reported.
The accident occurred at about 5:45 p.m. in the 3400 block of Sunnyside Boulevard, Marysville police Cmdr. Robb Lamoureux said.
The man, 60, was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. He was taken to Providence General Medical Center Everett with what police described as “serious, life-threatening head injuries.”
The vehicle’s driver, a Marysville woman, 38, remained at the scene and was cooperating with investigators. They do not believe she was impaired in any way, Lamoureux said.
The road was closed to traffic for several hours during the investigation.
Police urged anyone with information about the accident to contact detective Paul McShane of the police collision investigation team, 360-363-8350.
