EDMONDS — Police are now looking for leads on a white sport utility vehicle that was spotted in an Edmonds neighborhood Monday before a home-invasion robbery that targeted an elderly couple.

Police are looking for information about the vehicle, which was described as “boxy” and similar to a Jeep Cherokee or Land Rover, Edmonds police Sgt. Shane Hawley said Thursday.

Two men were seen getting out of the SUV and walking toward the victims’ home. The robbery occurred in the area of Pine Street and Eighth Avenue S. between 1:30 and 2:40 p.m. on Monday.

The robbers burst in on a woman in her 80s and a man in his 90. They pair was ordered to sit while the robbers ransacked the house. The victims were unhurt, but shaken by the ordeal.

Police earlier released descriptions of three men involved in the robbery. On Thursday, they were focusing on learning more about two men associated with the SUV.

The driver was described as white and between 40 and 50. He had brown hair and was wearing a dress shirt. The passenger also was white, and appeared about a decade younger. He had longer, curly black hair and was wearing a blue and black plaid shirt.

The men were seen walking back to the SUV carrying a large tube, similar to those used to store blueprints and maps. They also had a small, black leather pouch, Hawley said.
