South Everett-Mukilteo Rotary names Students of the Month

The South Everett-Mukilteo Rotary Club recently honored its Students of the Month for March.
Katherine Slack, of Kamiak High School, is ranked third in her class, is an AP Scholar with Honors and a National Merit finalist. She plays viola in the orchestra and is an active volunteer. She also is captain of the cross country team, and in a state meet last year ran a 5k race with one shoe.
Bethany Kassala, of Cascade High School, is the first in her class, an AP Scholar with Honors, and a student leader. She is founder of Bruins Against Cancer and also is involved in the DECA business and marketing club and Project Help. She also is a member of Young Executives of Color, Girls Who Code, and Health Educators Reaching Out.
Victoria Philp, of Mariner High School, is an active community volunteer, plays golf, and won two Silver Key awards in the Scholastic Arts Competition. Outside of school, she works at an in-home day care and participates in the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, a Masonic youth service group.
Hunter Lankford, of ACES High School, missed a year of school due to health issues but forged on and is now preparing to graduate. He has volunteered at the food bank and helped with the Macy’s parade. His favorite class in high school is art, where he helps load a kiln with pottery.
