Skagit County restaurants win top honors for chili, chowder

Valley Shine Distillery and Farmhouse Inn Restaurant won the Mount Vernon Chamber’s Skagit Chili & Chowder Cook-off on April 1.

Attendees chose Valley Shine Distillery for the best chili and the Farmhouse Inn Restaurant for the top chowder.

The afternoon event was hosted by Farmstrong Brewing who also held a Skagit Malt Showcase that day featuring the beer of eight regional breweries.
