Yarn, fabric sale

A sale of yarn, fabric and other sewing items to benefit Project Linus is set for 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Parish Hall, 330 Union Ave., Snohomish.

Find a variety of yarns. Good quality fabrics are $3 per yard. A sewing table, quilt books and other items also are among the sale items.

Proceeds will help the nonprofit buy supplies to make more of its kid-friendly blankets, which are given to local groups that work with children experiencing traumatic life events.

Crab dash: Registration is open for the annual Camano Crab Dash, a 5K or 10K family fun run (or walk), at runsignup.com.

The event is set for 9 a.m. to noon June 24. While there will be awards and ribbons for top finishers, the focus is on fun. Strollers and pets are welcome.

The run begins and ends at the Camano Center, 606 Arrowhead Road, and raises money for the nonprofit.

The Camano Center, which promotes the well-being and independence of local seniors and hosts community events, is supported entirely by donations.

Democrats meet: The Stanwood Democrats meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Stanwood Community and Senior Center, 7430 276th St. NW.

The guest speaker is Mario Brown, executive chair of the Snohomish County Democrats.
