EVERETT — A three-week trial ended with a hung jury for an Index man accused of beating another man nearly to death with a baseball bat in Monroe.

Jurors were deadlocked, 11-1 to convict, after two days of deliberations. Snohomish County Superior Court Judge Linda Krese declared a mistrial Thursday.

Jordan Jensen-Green is charged with first-degree assault, robbery and burglary. Prosecutors allege that he was armed with a deadly weapon during the Sept. 18. 2015, crime. They also allege one of his accomplices had a gun.

Prosecutors argued that Jensen-Green attacked a man who he believed stole from him. The man was beaten unconscious. He also was shot in the groin by another man involved in the break-in on Florence Acres Road.

Jensen-Green’s attorney argued that his client was being framed by four other men, who struck deals with prosecutors, and there was no evidence Jensen-Green was part of the attack.

A new trial date has been scheduled for July 21.
