Deadline extended for WSU project
EVERETT — The city of Everett has revised its environmental review of a plan to build the University Center building on North Broadway and extended the comment deadline to June 26.
University Center, which will be administered by Washington State University, will house programs from several colleges. The building will have four stories and cover 95,000 square feet.
The plan also calls for additional parking to be built on the site of an existing trailer park.

Legion Park cleanup meeting
The state Department of Ecology plans to hold a public meeting Tuesday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Legion Hall, 145 Alverson Blvd., to discuss cleaning up American Legion Memorial Park. As part of the Everett Smelter Cleanup project, the state plans to remove contaminated soil from the park this summer, necessitating some closures and construction work.

Free boating seminar for crews
The Everett Sail and Power Squadron offers the U.S. Power Squadrons’ seminar, “Partner in Command,” from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday in the conference room at Harbor Marine, 1032 W. Marine View Drive, Everett.
The seminar gives an introduction to boating for “first mate” and crew members who may or may not have taken a boating course.

Marysville: Talk development with EPA and the city
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the city of Marysville have scheduled a community meeting for June 25, to discuss infill development in the downtown core, including identifying obstacles and strategies to overcome them.
The meeting will be held from 5-6:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers on the second floor of Marysville City Hall, 1049 State Ave.
