Free Friday night entertainment in Index

The Outdoor Adventure Center is providing entertainment from 6 to 10 p.m. Fridays at the River House in Index.

There will be live music, yard games and a bonfire. Admission is free. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

There also will be beer specials and other incentives for those who bring an instrument to play.

Sign up for the Beat Bracket 5K: It’s time to register for Edmonds’ 5-kilometer fun run and walk scheduled for 10 a.m. July 4. It begins at City Park, 300 3rd Ave. The fee is $30 for adults and children who want a running shirt, $25 without the shirt. Children 12 and younger are free. Online registration closes July 1. YMCA fun run set for July 4: The annual YMCA Yankee Doodle Dash Family Fun Run is set for July 4 with 1-mile, 5k and 10k races starting from 8:30 a.m. A free Kiddy Doodle dash will be at 10 a.m. Proceeds benefit the Everett Family YMCA’s LiveStrong program for cancer survivors. Donations also will be accepted.

Fees range from $10 to $35, with early registration discounts through June 27. Volunteers for race day are welcome; contact Jill Losik at 425-374-5703.
