Washington Oakes Retirement Community offers its annual Grandparents Day Car Show and Trunk Swap Meet on Sunday in Everett.
It’s planned for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 1717 Rockefeller Ave. and is co-hosted by Rusty Relics.
Bring your show car. Planned is a swap meet with all items sold from the trunk of a car or bed of a truck, raffles, awards, music and food.
There is no entry fee.
Brunch on the deck: If the weather predictions for a 90-degree weekend come true, folks can take their plates to the deck during brunch at the Camano Island Yacht Club.
Brunch is served from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday and includes bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, omelets, hash browns, pancakes, fresh fruit, sweet rolls and beverages. It costs $8 or $5 for those younger than 9.
The club is located on the west side of the island and overlooks Saratoga Passage at 129 N. Sunset Drive on Camano Island.
Itty bitty pieces: Shred-A-Thon for Seattle Children’s Hospital is planned for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at QFC, 4919 Evergreen Way in Everett.
Support cancer research for kids. It costs $5 for a grocery bag of papers; $10 for an archive box of documents; and $30 per 32-gallon trash can of papers.
Register at EvCC east campus: Everett Community College’s East County Campus in Monroe has started enrollment for fall quarter.
Classes start Sept. 19.
