Delayed emergency dispatch software to go live in October

EVERETT — An overhaul of Snohomish County’s emergency dispatch software has been rescheduled for Oct. 27.
A launch date earlier this month, and others in previous years, were canceled because bugs still needed to be worked out.
The multimillion-dollar project involves the implementation of New World Systems as the software relied upon by emergency dispatchers and to be used by police, firefighters and corrections staff.
A regional incident management team is expected to oversee the launch. The project is managed through SNOPAC and SNOCOM, the county’s two primary dispatch centers based in Everett and Mountlake Terrace.
