Granite Falls 100 years
Celebrate the 100th anniversary of the 1911 Granite Falls High School graduating class at 1:30 p.m. June 9 at the school.
We’ll assume no 1911 graduates will be able to attend.
Contact friends, former classmates and teachers, neighbors and family members and ask them to attend. Check your attic, basement and garage, and bring any school items you have to share.
The June 9 event will begin with a school assembly that will include an historic slide show and a “move-up” tribute for the Class of 2011.
Following the assembly, everyone can gather in the commons to view memorabilia and share stories from days gone by.
Shoup homecoming: The USS Shoup is expected to return to Naval Station Everett about 10 a.m. Monday.
The guided-missile destroyer weighs 9,200 tons, is 509 feet long and carries a crew of 380.

It begins at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Monroe High School, 17001 Tester Road, in Monroe.
Admission is free.
Senior center to host chicken dinner: The Stillaguamish Senior Center’s monthly chicken dinner is set for noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at the center, 18308 Smokey Point Blvd., Arlington.
