Airbus doesn’t release its 2010 orders total until Monday but speculation is growing that the European jet maker will best the Boeing Co.

Two industry sources told Reuters that Airbus will post a higher jet tally than Boeing for 2010.

Boeing said last week that it had logged 530 net orders for 2010.

Airbus trailed Boeing in orders for most of last year. At the end of November, Airbus had 388 net orders. But Reuters source says that Airbus will beat Boeing both in net and gross orders for the year.

Earlier this week, EADS’ chief Louis Gallois told reporters that Airbus will post orders above 500. EADS is the parent company of Airbus.
