STANWOOD — Armed robbers struck two stores on New Year’s Day in the Stanwood area, according to police.

Two robbers wearing black hoodies held up a Little Caesar’s Pizza just before 8 p.m. in the 26400 block of 72nd Avenue NW, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office. They took cash from the till.

One of the robbers wore gray sweatpants, black athletic shoes, black gloves and a sweatshirt with the hood pulled over his head, according to the sheriff’s office. His hoodie had writing on it that wasn’t quite legible on security cameras. The second suspect wore all black, with black shoes.

About a half-hour later, the pair robbed the Lake Goodwin store about 9 miles south, in the 4700 block of Lakewood Road. They weren’t caught.

Police released still images from security cameras Tuesday.
