Best of the Mariners poll: Here’s the final results

The Herald’s Best of the Mariners poll series is complete, and we now know what readers believe is the best seasons ever by a Seattle Mariners player at 11 different position.

I want to extend a big, “Thank you!” to everyone who voted in these polls. My hope was to get enough participation that there would be meaningful results, and you more than met my goals, especially considering we limited these polls to our website and did not run concurrent Twitter polls as I tend to do with the weekly Seattle Sidelines poll.

I will be writing a column that runs in Sunday’s paper in which I give my personal selections for the best season ever by a Mariner at each position, and I’ll be comparing my choice to the popular vote. There are quite a few discrepancies, so check out Sunday’s section to see where we differ.
