Are you at risk for diabetes? Take a test at YMCA to find out

1. Post-Halloween pics.
Halloween has come and gone, but you’re still in the mood for a scary movie. Don’t know which one to watch? We can help.
CableTV.com polled all 50 states on favorite horror films. Can you guess what makes Washington cower in fear?
Probably not.
“Let the Right One In,” a 2008 Swedish film about a bullied 12-year-old boy who befriends a vampire child is the Evergreen State’s top horror flick.
Clown scares from the original 1990 mini-series “It” is the nation’s unanimous pick for scariest movie of all time.

2. Know your risks.
November is National Diabetes Awareness Month.
Prediabetes and Type 2 diabetes are preventable conditions, but most people don’t realize they’re at risk.
The YMCA of Snohomish County says making basic lifestyle changes for healthier living can reduce the risk for both. These include:
• Eat fruits and vegetables every day.
• Choose fish, lean meats and poultry without skin.
• Include whole grains with every meal.
• Exercise for at least 150 minutes each week.
• Drink water instead of beverages with added sugar.

3. The Great War.
The 100th anniversary of Armistice Day, the end of World War I, is Nov. 11.
Though there are no more living veterans from WWI, Edmonds Community College will pay special tribute to them at a Veterans Day Celebration from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 7 at Black Box Theatre in Mukilteo Hall, 20000 68th Ave. W., Lynnwood.
In addition, the Northwest Veterans Museum, at 19921 Poplar Way, also in Lynnwood, will be open 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 11. Relics from wars past are on display.
