He has written his photo-history column with the same name for The Seattle Times since 1982. Each “then” image is paired with a new, matching “now” picture photographed by Jean Sherrard. Dorpat is the author of many books, including three volumes of “Seattle Now & Then” and “Building Washington.” Sherrard is a photographer, writer and actor who began working with Dorpat about 20 years ago.
