SNOHOMISH — Four people were hurt, two with serious injuries, in a three-car crash on U.S. 2 that blocked all lanes Sunday afternoon.

The collision happened just before 1 p.m. on the westbound lanes of the highway, between Highway 9 and Bickford Avenue. A Lake Stevens woman was westbound with a small child passenger when a sudden hail storm created slush on the roadway and their car lost traction and rotated to the left, according to the Washington State Patrol.

A Snohomish teenager behind them struck their car’s driver’s-side front end. A third driver from Snohomish rear-ended the teen’s sedan.

All four people involved were taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, the Washington State Patrol said.
