Lynnwood VFW Post plans day of service this Saturday

EVERETT — The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1040, along with Boy Scout Troop 49 and community members, will participate in the VFW National Day of Service on Saturday in Lynnwood.

Participants are scheduled to meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at Veterans Park, 194th Street Southwest, Lynnwood. Organizers plan to clean up the grounds on the city center campus, including the fire department, rec center, city hall, library and Veterans Park.

Lynnwood Parks employees will assist with providing clean-up supplies. Participants should be prepared in case of inclement weather.

The Lynnwood event is one of 1,500 scheduled Saturday around the country, according to a press release.
